The future of the Festival of Busselton's much-loved New Year's Eve Foreshore Celebration is at risk due to the increasing cost of delivering large-scale community events.
Each year, thousands of locals and visitors gather on the Busselton Foreshore for a free, family-friendly evening of entertainment, activities and community celebration. However, the cost of staging the event has continued to rise, with significant expenses including security, traffic management, infrastructure, entertainment and event approvals.
The Festival of Busselton is an independent not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. While the City of Busselton has generously supported the broader Festival program, additional sponsorship is required specifically for the New Year's Eve event.
We are calling on local businesses and community partners to help protect this important Busselton tradition.
With the right support, we hope to continue bringing families together to celebrate the beginning of another year on our beautiful foreshore.
